Very expected game when 9th rankedBigua (3-4) was edged by fifth ranked Malvin (5-2) in Montevideo 90-89 on Friday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Malvin made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Malvin outrebounded Bigua 49-30 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by Serbian Dragan Zekovic (209-1987, agency: 011 Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Remy Abell (193-1992, college: Xavier) supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by American point guard Deshone Hicks (178-1999, college: Ferrum) did not help to save the game for Bigua . Dominican Jhery Matos (196-1996, college: Charlotte) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bigua's coach Federico Camina rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Malvin have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Bigua lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with U.Atletica and Urunday.
