Top rankedPenarol (15-2) recorded its second loss in Montevideo on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Aguada (12-5) 91-80 . It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Penarol. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Aguada made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. American Donald Sims (190-1987, college: App State, agency: Pensack Sports) fired 33 points (!!!) (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. His fellow American import Earl Clark (208-1988, college: Louisville, agency: BIG) chipped in 21 points. Aguada's coach German Cortizas used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Italian swingman Nicola Pomoli (195-1999) produced 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Skyler Hogan (196-1997, college: SEMO) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. Aguada have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Nacional. Penarol at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost.
