Not a big story in a game when 9th rankedUrunday (9-13) lost to first ranked Penarol (19-2) in Montevideo 83-100 on Thursday. Penarol dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Urunday 's 32. Penarol looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Santiago Vescovi (191-2001, college: Tennessee) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized Italian swingman Nicola Pomoli (195-1999) accounted for 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Five Penarol players scored in double figures. American guard Eric Demers (185-1997, college: Gordon) came up with 25 points and forward Santiago Massa (190-1997) added 23 points respectively for Urunday in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Penarol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-2 record. Loser Urunday keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost.
