The most exciting game of round 8 in the LUB took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengersMalvin (17-11) to fourth ranked Nacional (17-9) 71-69 in the game for the third place. Worth to mention a great performance of Panamanian power forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-1989) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds and American-Dominican center James Feldeine (193-1988, college: Quinnipiac) who added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Nacional's coach Alvaro Ponce used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Joshua Webster (190-1997, college: Missouri St.) responded with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import guard Carlton Guyton (190-1990, college: Kent St.) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Five Malvin players scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Malvin at the other side dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost.
