There was no surprise in Montevideo where 4th placedMalvin (18-13) was crushed by first ranked Penarol (25-6) 96-68 on Tuesday. Penarol outrebounded Malvin 36-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. Penarol shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Skyler Hogan (196-1997, college: SEMO) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Guard Santiago Vescovi (191-2001, college: Tennessee) helped adding 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. American guard Carlton Guyton (190-1990, college: Kent St.) responded with 18 points and 4 assists and guard Santiago Fernandez (186-2000) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Penarol have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 25-6 record. Loser Malvin keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost.
