There was an upset in Maracay where higher rankedBrillantes (4-6) were defeated by thirteenth ranked Toros (3-6) 85-75 on Wednesday. Toros looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Addison Spruill (195-1993, college: UNCW) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. The other American import Rakim Brown (198-1991, college: Humboldt St.) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Iraqi guard Demario Mayfield (196-1991, college: Angelo St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and American swingman Chavaughn Lewis (195-1993, college: Marist) added 20 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toros maintains thirteenth position with 3-6 record. Loser Brillantes dropped to the tenth place with six games lost.
