Very expected game when 12th rankedCocodrilos (3-6) lost to second ranked Marinos (8-3) in Puerto La Cruz 71-87 . American swingman Wesley Saunders (196-1993, college: Harvard) scored 18 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Michael Bryson (193-1994, college: UCSB) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Marinos players scored in double figures. American power forward Willie Reed (211-1990, college: St.Louis, agency: Diamond Sports) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Luis Betancourt (183-2002) scored 12 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marinos have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-3 record having just one point less than leader Gaiteros. Cocodrilos at the other side keep the twelfth place with six games lost.
