Regular Season Round 34: Piratas - Cocodrilos 88-90

The most exciting game of round 34 in the SPB took place in La Guaira. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th rankedPiratas (11-11) to sixth ranked Cocodrilos (12-12) 90-88 on Sunday evening. Cocodrilos dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Piratas ' 30. American power forward Willie Reed (211-1990, college: St.Louis, agency: Diamond Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners. The other American import Keyshawn Woods (192-1996, college: Ohio St., agency: Diamond Sports) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Cocodrilos players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Edwin Mijares (186-1992) produced 32 points and American-Jamaican guard Rashad James (185-1990, college: Iona) added 23 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Cocodrilos maintains sixth position with 12-12 record, which they share with Brillantes and Gladiadores. Piratas at the other side dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Guaiqueries.
