SPB top team -Gaiteros (5-0) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Centauros (1-4) in Maracaibo 94-81 . Gaiteros outrebounded Centauros 44-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Gaiteros made 9 blocks. American Andre Nation (196-1993, college: JMU) fired 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Luis Duarte (190-1994) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Colombian forward Yustin Llerena (195-2002) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and American Shavar Newkirk (180-1996, college: St.Joseph's, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
