Very expected game in La Guaira where bottom-rankedPiratas (0-6) were edged by fifth ranked Brillantes (3-1) 93-91 on Sunday. American forward Von Cameron Davis (196-2001, college: Kent St., agency: JCK Sports Group) fired 25 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import guard Duane Wilson (189-1994, college: Texas A&M) chipped in 20 points. Wilson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Brillantes' coach Gustavo Garcia used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Dominican Yeison Colome (190-1996) produced 34 points (!!!) and 5 assists and American forward Austin Trice (203-2000, college: ODU) added 22 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Despite that victory Brillantes went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with Guaiqueries. Loser Piratas still closes the standings with six games lost.
