Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Caracas:Pioneros (#6) and Brillantes (#7). Brillantes were defeated at home 67-74 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Brillantes were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Brevin Galloway (188-1997, college: Clemson, agency: BIG) notched 24 points to lead the effort and the other American import center Kelby Kramer (213-1999, college: MSU, agency: Starting 5) supported him with 8 points and 15 rebounds. Even 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists by point guard Carlos Paez (180-2000, college: SE Louisiana) did not help to save the game for Brillantes . American forward Von Cameron Davis (196-2001, college: Kent St., agency: JCK Sports Group) added 17 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Four Brillantes players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pioneros have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Marinos. Brillantes at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost.
