Regular Season Round 25: Diablos - Heroes 96-89

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Caracas: Diablos (#10) and Heroes (#9). Diablos (6-9) won against visiting Heroes (5-10) 96-89. Diablos dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Heroes' 30. Diablos had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Bryan Savinon stepped up and scored 31 points and 4 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Delwan Graham (200-1988, college: Jacksonville, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 17 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side Bahamas David Nesbitt (205-1991, college: St.Thomas, FL) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Jared Cunningham (194-1991, college: Oregon St., agency: BIG) scored 21 points and 4 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!). Four Diablos and five Heroes players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Diablos moved-up to ninth place. Heroes at the other side dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Piratas. Diablos will play against higher ranked Guaiqueries (#5) in Porlamar in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Heroes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Spartans.
