Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Caracas:Cocodrilos (#2) and Spartans (#3). Cocodrilos (17-4) crushed visiting Spartans (15-7) by 36 points 97-61 . Cocodrilos outrebounded Spartans 43-29 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cocodrilos players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a good game for Dominican Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-1986) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Dominican guard Juan Suero (196-1993) answered with 16 points and the former international Jose Rodriguez (197-1994) added 12 points in the effort for Spartans. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cocodrilos maintains second place with 17-4 record having just two point less than leader Gaiteros. Spartans at the other side keep the third position with seven games lost.
