LDD Round 4: La Union record their first victory

La Union has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked San Lorenzo (3-2) on the road game in Almagra 92-83 on Tuesday. La Union made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by San Lorenzo helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Marcos Gonzalez (197-0) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and guard Matias Caire (188) who added 31 points during the contest. At the losing side point guard Franco Actis (178-1) responded with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!). San Lorenzo's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. La Union (1-2) left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place. San Lorenzo at the other side keeps the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. LDD top team - Boca Jrs (5-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventeenth ranked Quimsa (1-4) in Santiago del Estero 74-60. The winners were led by Manuel Rodriguez (203-2) who scored that evening 20 points and 8 rebounds and Juan Guerrero supported him with 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (perfect from the field making all six shots). Even 28 points and 8 rebounds by Lucas Chiapella did not help to save the game for Quimsa. Undefeated Boca Jrs have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Quimsa at the other side keeps the seventeenth place with four games lost. They share the position with Olimpico and Platense. Boca Jrs will play against Atenas (#12) in Cordoba in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Quimsa will play at home against Instituto (#5) to get more than just one victory in their record.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 4: winless H.Americano was destroyed by Argentino on the opponent's court 63-40. Regatas managed to outperform Obras in a home game 80-71. Ferro managed to beat Union on the road 85-75. Platense was defeated by Atenas on its own court 77-80. Gimnasia was beaten by Union in Santa Fe 105-95. Obera destroyed Obras at home 83-56. Winless H.Americano was outscored by Penarol on the opponent's court 96-55. Riachuelo LR was rolled over Instituto in a home game 90-134. Atenas was defeated by Ferro on the road 80-78.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 23 points by Maximo Lomelo of Atenas.

Argentino - H.Americano 63-40

Very expected game in Junin where bottom-ranked H.Americano (0-5) was crushed by eighth ranked Argentino (3-1) 63-40 on Monday. Argentino forced 19 H.Americano turnovers. Juan Ibarra fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Guard Franco Montemagio (185-2) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Argentino's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Matias Von Schmeling (200-1) produced a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds and Alejo Digon added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side.
