Fabian Ramirez selected the top Argentinian playing abroad in last week's games

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Argentinians who are currently playing abroad.

Fabian Ramirez

#1. This week's number one is former international forward Fabian Ramirez (200-1990, currently plays in Uruguay). He led Cordon to a victory over the closely-ranked Lagomar (5-1) crushing them 96-71 in a derby game in the Uruguayan Metropolitan (second division) last Monday. Ramirez was MVP of the game. He scored 25 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, passed 3 assists and added 2 blocks. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Atletico Cordon Montevideo (5-1) is placed first in the Metropolitan. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. Agustin Caffaro

#2. Second place goes to former international center Agustin Caffaro (211-1995, currently plays in Uruguay). He could not help the league outsider Sayago (0-6) in their last game. Despite Caffaro's very good performance the bottom-ranked Sayago lost 72-82 on the road to the second-ranked Lagomar. He was the top scorer with 21 points. Caffaro also added 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 35 minutes. So far Sayago lost all six games in the Regular Season. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Caffaro has relatively good stats this year: 14.8ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.5apg, 1.3bpg, 2FGP: 50.9%, 3FGP: 30.8% and FT: 65.7% in six games he played so far. He played for the Argentinian national team in 20.

Pablo Alderete

#3. The Argentinian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U16 international power forward Pablo Alderete (198-1993, currently plays in Ecuador). He was the main contributor in a Punto Rojo's victory against the closely-ranked Caballeros (7-4) 78-71 in the Ecuadorian National League in Tuesday night's game. Alderete was the best player in that game. He had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 10 rebounds. Alderete also added 4 assists in 36 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Punto Rojo LR (5-2) is placed second in the National League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Alderete has very impressive stats this year: 17.5ppg, 8.3rpg, 3.5apg, 1.5spg, 2FGP: 58.1%(18-31), 3FGP: 46.2%(6-13) in four games. He played for the Argentinian U16 national team year ago.

Cristian Scaramuzzino

   #4. Center Cristian Scaramuzzino (206-1992, currently plays in Uruguay) was the major contributor in Colon's victory against the closely-ranked 25 de Agosto (4-2) 106-99 in the Uruguayan Metropolitan (second division) on Saturday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 13 rebounds. Colon F.C. (4-2) is placed sixth in the Metropolitan. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. This season Scaramuzzino has relatively solid stats: 13.5ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.5apg and 1.7bpg. He used to play for the Argentinian U18 national team back in 10.

Ernesto Rodriguez (178-G-1990, currently plays in Puerto Rico) was the major contributor in Gigantes' victory against the leader Capitanes (22-10) 84-83 in the Puerto Rican BSN in Monday night's game. He scored 16 points, grabbed 6 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 3 balls in 33 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams. Gigantes de Carolina (13-4) is placed first in Group B. This year Rodriguez averages: 2.8ppg, 1.2rpg and 1.3apg in 33 games he played so far.

   #2. Joaquin Gamazo (198-PF-1991, currently plays in Bolivia) led La Salle to a victory over one of league's weakest teams UNITEP (2-9) crushing them 92-62 in the Bolivian Libobasquet in Tuesday night's game. Gamazo was the best player in that game. He scored 25 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Club Deportivo y Cultural La Salle de Tarija (6-3) is placed fourth in the Libobasquet. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Gamazo has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 26.2ppg, 13.8rpg and 3.1apg.

   #3. Manuel Lambrisca (192-G/F-1997, currently plays in Chile) was the main contributor in a Boston College's victory against the closely-ranked Arabe de Valparaiso (5-6) crushing them 85-62 in the Chilean LNB 2 (second division) last Saturday. Lambrisca was the best player in that game. He scored 19 points in 28 minutes. It was his first game for Boston College this season. His team is placed eighth in the LNB 2. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.

   #4. Experienced Eduardo Gamboa (189-SG-1984, currently plays in Bolivia) is a teammate of previously mentioned Joaquin Gamazo. But that was another game of his team in Bolivian Libobasquet which we would like to mention. Gamboa contributed to a La Salle's victory against the closely-ranked Atomico (5-5) 71-67. He was the best player in that game. Gamboa scored 22 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Club Deportivo y Cultural La Salle de Tarija (6-3) is placed fourth in the Libobasquet. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season Gamboa has relatively solid stats: 14.8ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.3apg and 1.5spg.

   #5. Federico Herrera (200-F/C-1993, currently plays in Chile) helped Sportiva Italiana win their game against the 13th-ranked Luis Matte (4-8) crushing them 98-61 in the Chilean LNB 2 (second division) last Sunday. Herrera scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Sportiva Italiana Valparaiso (10-1) is placed first in the LNB 2. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Herrera's overall stats this season are: 9.0ppg, 7.7rpg, 1.9apg and 1.3spg.

   #6. Franco Benitez (199-F-1994, currently plays in Paraguay) helped San Jose win their game against the second-ranked Olimpia Kings 73-68 in a derby game in the Paraguayan LNB on Thursday night. He had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting the same number of rebounds in 28 minutes. This year Benitez has relatively solid stats: 14.3ppg, 8.6rpg and 1.4apg in 13 games.

   #7. Fernando Dose (200-F-1994, currently plays in Paraguay) is a teammate of previously mentioned Franco Benitez. However that was another game of his team in Paraguayan LNB which brought him to that list. Dose helped San Jose win their game against the third-ranked Colonias Gold 85-77 in a derby game. He was the top player that evening. Dose scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. This season Dose has very high stats. He averages: 15.9ppg, 5.2rpg and 2.6apg. Dose has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Paraguayan.

   #8. Sebastian Picton (197-F-1992, currently plays in Paraguay) is a teammate of previously mentioned Franco Benitez. He played also in the last Paraguayan LNB game facing Fernando Dose (above) in the other team. Picton helped San Jose win their game against the third-ranked Colonias Gold 85-77 in a derby game. He scored 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 23 minutes. This year Picton has relatively solid stats: 12.4ppg, 5.9rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1spg in 14 games.

   #9. Sebastian Alvarez (185-PG-1989, currently plays in Uruguay) helped Colon win their game against the closely-ranked 25 de Agosto 106-99 in the Uruguayan Metropolitan (second division) in Saturday night's game. Alvarez scored 19 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in 42 minutes. Alvarez has reliable stats this year: 13.2ppg, 3.7rpg, 2.7apg and 1.2spg in six games.
