Undefeated leader Gimnasia CR delivered the eighth consecutive win on Monday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Independ.O. (5-4) 84-78 in Olivia. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Independ.O.. Gimnasia CR forced 22 Independ.O. turnovers. The best player for the winners was Martiniano Dato who scored 27 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Dominican swingman Angel Reyes (201-2002) chipped in 20 points and 12 rebounds. point guard Jorge Garcia (180) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Independ.O.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Undefeated Gimnasia CR (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Bottom-ranked Olimpico (0-7) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 91-67 loss to second ranked Obera (7-1) in La Banda. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Obera outrebounded Olimpico 48-35 including 16 on the offensive glass. Obera players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Olimpico's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks.
