Eighth-ranked Ferro (16-10) made lots of trouble for second ranked Regatas (23-5) in Corrientes on Thursday. Regatas managed to secure only three-point victory 68-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was Juan Larraza who scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Benjamin Marco (186-2005) chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Camilo Rodriguez (187-2006) who recorded 19 points and 4 assists. Regatas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 23-5 record behind leader Independ.O. Ferro at the other side keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Regatas are looking forward to face Union (#3) in Santa Fe in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ferro will play on the road against San Martin (#16) in Corrientes and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Union (21-11) against ninth ranked Instituto (13-10) on Thursday night. Visiting Union was edged by Instituto in a tough game in Cordoba 75-78. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Union. It was a good game for Bautista Corsi who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Lucca Giuliani contributed with 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Instituto's coach Ignacio Giambartolomei used entire bench in such tough game. Ulises Gonzalez (-2005) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds for Union. Instituto maintains ninth position with 13-10 record. Union at the other side keeps the third place with 11 games lost. Instituto will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Union will play at home against the league's second-placed Regatas where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

Obera outrebounded Olimpico 40-19 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Drazen Sinigoj (192-2005) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds and Spanish forward Tobias Reizner (203, college: Truman St.) who added 10 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Obera players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Facundo Rivero (180-2004) with 12 points and point guard Cesar Martinez (182-2007) scored 5 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Olimpico's coach Jose Maria Gerez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Obera have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place.
