The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Independ.O. (30-6) in Buenos Aires on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by tenth ranked Boca Jrs (18-14) 75-74. Worth to mention a great performance of Fidel Cifuentes who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Tiago Drocezesky (193-2005) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Jorge Garcia (200-2003) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for Independ.O.Independ.O.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Boca Jrs have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Boca Jrs. maintains tenth place with 18-14 record. Independ.O. at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Boca Jrs. are looking forward to face San Martin (#15) in Corrientes in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Independ.O. will play on the road against Penarol (#14) in Mar del Plata and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Atenas managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they won against nineteenth-ranked Quimsa in Santiago del Estero 89-79. It was a great evening for Tiago Tomatis who led his team to a victory scoring 41 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Benjamin Imaz helped adding 15 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side guard Matias Pikaluk (188-2006) responded with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Atenas maintains twentieth place with 5-30 record. Quimsa lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the nineteenth position with 30 games lost. Atenas will play against higher ranked Gimnasia (#18) in Comodoro Rivadavia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quimsa will play at home against Instituto and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Comodoro Rivadavia between Gimnasia CR and San Lorenzo. Eighteenth ranked Gimnasia CR (6-27) got a very close home victory over higher ranked San Lorenzo (14-19). Gimnasia CR managed to escape with a 3-point win 88-85 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It was an exceptional evening for Natalio Santacroce who led the winners and scored 32 points and 5 rebounds. Valentino Nesci came up with 19 points and 7 rebounds for San Lorenzo in the defeat. Gimnasia maintains eighteenth place with 6-27 record. Loser San Lorenzo keeps the thirteenth position with 19 games lost. Gimnasia will meet higher ranked Riachuelo (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Lorenzo will play against the league's leader Independ.O. (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.

Other games in round 43 were not that significant. Olimpico was smashed by Ferro on the road 94-73. Union lost to Boca Jrs. on its own court 71-83. Argentino unfortunately lost to La Union in Formosa 70-85. Olimpico recorded a loss to Atenas at home 60-76. Penarol was crushed by Union on the opponent's court 96-64. Gimnasia was beaten by Regatas in a home game 85-89. Instituto lost to Riachuelo on the road 62-80.
The most impressive performance of 43th round was 11 points and 16 rebounds by Fabricio Diaz of Riachuelo LR.




Ferro - Olimpico 94-73

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Ferro (21-14) crushed 16th ranked Olimpico (9-27) in Buenos Aires 94-73 on Tuesday. Ferro dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpico's 38. Ferro forced 27 Olimpico turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Juan Ryzwaniuk (-2005) who led the winners and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Camilo Rodriguez (187-2006) accounted for 18 points and 6 steals for the winning side. Ferro's coach Jonathan Laino felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Luciano Tundis came up with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Enzo Facelli (-2003) added 16 points respectively for Olimpico in the defeat. Ferro maintains eighth place with 21-14 record. Olimpico lost their eleventh game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 27 games lost. Ferro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Olimpico will play against Instituto (#9) and hope to secure a win.

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Union (22-15) lost to tenth ranked Boca Jrs (18-14) in Santa Fe 71-83 on Monday. Boca Jrs. outrebounded Union 49-33 including a 40-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for forward Tiziano Prome (201-2005) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Fidel Cifuentes accounted for 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Lucas Peralta (-2005) came up with 23 points and 5 rebounds and Ulises Gonzalez (-2005) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Union in the defeat. Union's coach Marcos Chechele tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Boca Jrs.
