La Liga Proximo Round 2 (Regular Season): Atenas lose to Regatas

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LDB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Atenas recorded a loss in Corrientes on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Regatas 71-68. The best player for the winners was who scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Benjamin Marco (186-2005) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Regatas' coach Diego Checenelli used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Tiago Tomatis produced 21 points for the guests. Regatas are looking forward to face Penarol in Mar del Plata in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Atenas will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in Obera. San Lorenzo saved a 1-point victory on the road edging Obera 73-72 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. saved the victory by scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Facundo Ibanez contributed with 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Tobias Reizner replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds for Obera. San Lorenzo will play against La Union in Formosa in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Obera will have a break next round.

Ferro's coach Juan Di Gilio used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gian Rossi responded with 19 points and 6 assists. Ferro will meet Racing Ch. in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Penarol will play against Regatas and hope to win that game.

Rest of the games of round 2 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Argentino was defeated by Quimsa in Santiago del Estero 92-82. Olimpico was beaten by Argentino at home 75-89. San Martin lost to Boca Jrs. on the opponent's court 66-81.

Ferro - Penarol 78-63

The game with biggest result difference took place in Buenos Aires. Local Ferro beat Penarol 78-63 on Sunday night. Ferro outrebounded Penarol 48-29 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. scored 13 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Ferro's coach Juan Di Gilio used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Gian Rossi (185-2005) responded with 19 points and 6 assists and Gonzalo Aman scored 21 points. Romeo Amprimo had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Facundo Peralta (186) chipped in 29 points and 6 assists during the contest. responded with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Four Quimsa and five Argentino players scored in double figures. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Four Boca Jrs players scored in double figures. Boca Jrs' coach Gianluca Brignardello let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest.
