Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
First defeat of Boca Juniors (3-1) against fourth ranked Instituto (3-1) 91-82 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Boca Juniors. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Instituto looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Keylan Boone (203-2000, college: UNLV) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized Italian point guard Gaston Whelan (187-1994) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Instituto's coach Diego Vadell used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international Agustin Barreiro (205-1999) replied with 25 points and 9 rebounds for Boca Juniors. Instituto keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Boca Juniors and Regatas. Boca Juniors will play next round against Atenas trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Instituto will try to continue on its current victory against fifteenth ranked Penarol in Mar del Plata.
Obras (2-1) recorded its first loss in Buenos Aires. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Quimsa (2-2) 68-64. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Diego Figueredo (185-1991, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 4 assists and Nicolas Romano who added 8 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Federico Zezular (198-2001) responded with 18 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Quimsa went down to seventh position due to points difference, which they share with Atenas. Obras at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. They share the position with La Union. Quimsa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obras will play on the road against Racing Ch. (#19) in Chivilcoy and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Penarol's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Quimsa (2-2) 88-85 on Wednesday. The winners were led by Luciano Guerra who scored that evening 28 points and 4 assists. Penarol's coach Leonardo Costa allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Brandon Robinson did not help to save the game for Quimsa. Penarol (1-3) left bottom position moving up to fifteenth place. Loser Quimsa dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Atenas. Penarol will meet at home league's leader Instituto in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Quimsa will have a break next round.
Other games in round 4 were not that significant. Atenas beat Racing Ch. on the road 83-80. Winless Argentino lost to Atenas on its own court 66-84. La Union managed to outperform Obera in Formosa 87-80. Obras rolled over Olimpico at home 86-67.
