There were just 7 rounds played in Regular Season of La Liga Argentina and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

First defeat of league's leader Comunicaciones (4-1) against eleventh ranked Santa Paula (2-1) 101-84 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Comunicaciones. Santa Paula looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 assists. contributed with 16 points and 7 assists for the winners. Santa Paula's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spanish-Venezuelan swingman Franger Pirela (187-2002) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds for Comunicaciones. Santa Paula moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Salta Basket and Suardi. Comunicaciones at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by San Isidro. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Estudiantes T. moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Villa S.Martin at the other side keeps the fourth position with one game lost. Estudiantes T. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Villa S.Martin will play on the road against Salta Basket (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Centenario between Centenario VT and Provincial. Thirteenth ranked Centenario VT (2-2) got a very close home victory over much higher ranked Provincial (3-2). Centenario VT managed to escape with a 2-point win 89-87 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Provincial. It was an exceptional evening for Lucio Castellani who led the winners and scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Centenario VT's coach Fernando Aguilar allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Gonzalo Torres came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for Provincial in the defeat. Centenario VT moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Provincial keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Other games in round 7 were not that significant. Winless Colon was beaten by Riojana on the road 89-87. Quilmes destroyed Racing A. on its own court 80-60. Pergamino unfortunately lost to Dep Viedma in Rio Negro 66-78. Winless Independiente recorded a loss to Jujuy at home 99-103. El Talar defeated Lanus on the opponent's court 79-76. Las Heras smashed Amancay in a home game 93-70.

Riojana outrebounded Colon 45-29 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (200-1988) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Mateo Beigier (187-2001) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Riojana's coach used entire bench in such tough game. American forward Joe Hampton (203-1998, college: LBSU) came up with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and added 14 points and 7 assists respectively for Colon in the defeat. Four Colon players scored in double figures. Riojana left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place, which they share with Rocamora. It was Colon's sixth loss in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Riojana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Colon will play against Suardi (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
