The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Quilmes as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Quilmes smashed 13th ranked Pergamino in Mar del Plata 76-56. Point guard Santiago Luduena (178-1993) orchestrated the victory by scoring 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. point guard Federico De Miguel (176-1997, agency: BIG) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Quilmes' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian power forward Emanual Shepherd (203-1995, college: Southern) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds for Pergamino. Quilmes have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Pergamino at the other side dropped to the fifteenth place with five games lost. Pergamino will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Quilmes will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked Ciclista in Junin.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Comunicaciones (4-2) against seventh ranked Suardi (4-2) on Monday night. Host Comunicaciones was defeated by Suardi in a tough game in Mercedes 78-85. It was a great evening for Santiago Calderon (190) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. Pablo Martinez helped adding 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Suardi's coach Andres Poi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Franco Fragozo (198-2001) responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Suardi moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Comunicaciones. Suardi will play against Villa S.Martin (#4) in Resistencia in the next round. Comunicaciones will have a break next round.
A very close game took place in Colonia Caroya between Caroya and Independiente. Fourth ranked Caroya (4-1) got a very close home victory over 16th ranked Independiente (1-5). Caroya managed to escape with a 1-point win 81-80 on Sunday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It was an exceptional evening for Esteban Caffaro who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Cristian Amicucci came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds for Independiente in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Caroya moved-up to second place. Loser Independiente keeps the sixteenth position with five games lost. Caroya will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Independiente will play against the league's leader San Isidro (#1) in San Francisco and hope to win that game.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 11: Jujuy beat Salta Basket on the road 80-73. Amancay won against Santa Paula on its own court 66-62. Pergamino unfortunately lost to U.Mar del Plata in a road game 74-81. Estudiantes T. recorded a loss to Las Heras at home 64-75.
The most impressive performance of 11th round was 19 points and 10 rebounds by Joe Hampton of Estudiantes T..




Salta Basket - Jujuy 73-80

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Jujuy (2-2) beat on the road higher ranked Salta Basket (3-2) 80-73 on Monday. It was an exceptional evening for Ramiro Stehli who led the winners and scored 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Santiago Ibarra (198-1998) accounted for 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Santiago Calderon (190) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and American Chance Hunter (198-1998, college: Cal Poly) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Salta Basket in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Jujuy moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Salta Basket dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Lanus and GELP. Jujuy will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Salta Basket will play against Las Heras (#11) and hope to secure a win.

U.Mar del Plata dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Pergamino's 26. U.Mar del Plata looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists.
