The game between third ranked Salta Basket (8-4) and fifteenth ranked Independiente (4-7) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Salta Basket was crushed by Independiente in Santiago del Estero 85-64. Independiente dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Salta Basket's 34. American swingman Michael Henry (198-1995, college: Buffalo St.) came up with 21 points and 7 rebounds for Lanus in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Racing A. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Lanus at the other side dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. They share it with Rivadavia and Suardi. Racing A. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lanus will play at home against Rocamora (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Riojana moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Independiente. Loser Jujuy dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Riojana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jujuy will play against Amancay (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 21: Provincial won against El Talar on the opponent's court 91-76. Dep Viedma managed to outperform Ciclista in a home game 85-81. Rivadavia recorded a loss to Barrio Parque on the road 89-84. U.Mar del Plata defeated Dep Norte on its own court 78-72. Rocamora was smashed by La Union in Colon 82-57.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 19 points and 6 rebounds by Rodrigo Acuna of La Union.



El Talar - Provincial 76-91

Very expected game in Buenos Aires where 14th ranked El Talar (3-6) was defeated by second ranked Provincial (9-2) 91-76 on Monday. The best player for the winners was Ecuadorian Abraham Barahona (195-2003) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Uruguayan center Matias Acosta (200-1999) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. Five Provincial players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Venezuelan power forward Fernando Fuenmayor (201-2000) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Ecuadorian power forward Matias Nunez (202-1995) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Provincial have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 9-2 record behind leader San Isidro. El Talar lost fourth consecutive game.
