The most exciting game of round 25 in the LDB took place in Obera. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 9th ranked Obera (9-10) to eleventh ranked Racing Ch. (9-10) 81-79 in the game for the ninth place. Tomas Delia stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Francisco Gonzalez chipped in 14 points. At the losing side Colombian point guard Edwin Niebles (178-2005) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Racing Ch. moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Gimnasia and Obera. Racing Ch. is looking forward to face league's second-placed La Union in Formosa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Obera will have a break next round.

Pablo Spies came up with 27 points and 6 assists for Union in the defeat. Union's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Atenas moved-up to seventeenth place. Union at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Atenas will play against higher ranked Argentino (#16) in Junin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Union will play at home against San Lorenzo and hopes to get back on the winning track.
19th ranked Olimpico (1-18) was outscored at home by twelfth ranked San Martin (7-10) with the biggest margin this round 89-68 on Sunday night. Mateo Rearte fired 17 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Jeremias Barco produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Olimpico's coach Jose Maria Gerez gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. San Martin have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain twelfth place with 7-10 record. Olimpico lost fourteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. San Martin will meet Quimsa (#15) in the next round. Olimpico will have a break next round.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 25: Argentino lost to Independ.O. on the opponent's court 66-76. Quimsa unfortunately lost to Regatas in a home game 69-80. Ferro managed to beat Gimnasia on the road 81-71.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 18 points and 9 rebounds by Lautaro Cerioni of Olimpico.



Union - Atenas 80-83

Pablo Spies came up with 27 points and 6 assists and Agustin Ferrari (-2005) added 17 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) respectively for Union in the defeat. Very expected game in Olivia where 16th ranked Argentino (6-13) was defeated by fifth ranked Independ.O. (13-5) 76-66 on Saturday. Ecuadorian forward Carlos Hurtado (212-2006) fired a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Exequiel Sanchez chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. point guard Juan Arias (177-2007) produced 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Martino Caporaletti added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Independ.O. maintains fifth place with 13-5 record. Argentino lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth position with 13 games lost. Independ.O. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Argentino will play against the league's leader Instituto (#1) in Cordoba and hope to secure a win.

Very predictable result in Santiago del Estero where third ranked Regatas (15-4) defeated 13th ranked Quimsa (6-12) 80-69 on Saturday. Viktor Bender (197-2006) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. point guard Exequiel Lezcano (180-2007) chipped in 17 points. Four Regatas players scored in double figures. Guard Facundo Peralta (186) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and Romeo Amprimo added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Quimsa's coach Mariano Marcos let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Regatas have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with La Union. Quimsa lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Penarol. Regatas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Quimsa will play against San Martin (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Ferro dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Gimnasia CR's 18. They outrebounded Gimnasia 41-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. Guard Ulises Martorell (198-2006) fired 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Mateo Cerruti chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Valentino Ayala (190-2005) produced 20 points and 4 assists and Venezuelan center Jesus Centeno (205-2006) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Gimnasia CR's coach let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Ferro have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place.
