La Liga Proximo Round 34 (Regular Season): Top-ranked Instituto wins another game

The round 34 was rather boring as all games ended with very predictable results. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

LDB top team - Instituto (22-5) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat eighth ranked San Lorenzo (12-13) in Almagra 86-76. Worth to mention a great performance of Colombian forward Jerson Caicedo (204-2004) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Lucas Andersson contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Valentino Nesci replied with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for San Lorenzo. San Lorenzo's coach Juan Veira rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Instituto have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-5 record. San Lorenzo lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 13 games lost. Instituto will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. San Lorenzo will play on the road against Regatas (#4) in Corrientes and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
The game between 13th ranked Union (9-14) and twelfth ranked Quimsa (11-14) in Santa Fe ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Santiago del Estero outscored Union 104-85. Romeo Amprimo had a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Patricio Cogliati chipped in 27 points and 11 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side Pablo Spies responded with 32 points. Quimsa have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Gimnasia. Union at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Quimsa will play against higher ranked Ferro (#7) in Buenos Aires in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Union will have a break next round.

Other games in round 34 were not that significant. Penarol was beaten by Regatas on the road 81-69. Ferro won against San Lorenzo on its own court 69-62. Platense managed to outperform Boca Jrs. in Florida 82-75.
The most impressive performance of 34th round was 26 points and 5 rebounds by Santino Mazzucchelli of Platense.

Viktor Bender (197-2006) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Exequiel Lezcano (180-2007) chipped in 15 points, 7 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Regatas' coach Diego Checenelli allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side guard Gonzalo Aman (190-2008) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and point guard Gian Rossi (185-2005) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Regatas maintains fourth position with 19-5 record. Penarol at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with San Martin. Regatas will play against San Lorenzo (#8) in Almagra in the next round. Penarol will play at home against Platense (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
