The Regular Season in La Liga just ended. The round was exceptionally exciting as three games ended with a tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 50 in the La Liga took place in Cordoba. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Instituto (21-16) to first ranked Quimsa (24-12) 79-78 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) who scored 18 points. The other American import Tyren Johnson (202-1988, college: Louisiana) chipped in 7 points and 7 rebounds. The former international Leonel Schattmann (193-1987) produced 21 points for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Quimsa have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 24-12 record, which they share with Gimnasia. Instituto at the other side dropped to the sixth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Ferro.
Eleventh-ranked Penarol (19-17) made lots of trouble for second ranked Obera (23-13). Obera managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected much easier game. American-Mexican forward Daviyon Draper (200-1994, college: FIU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Bruno Sansimoni contributed with 15 points and 6 assists for the winners. point guard Luciano Guerra (184-1997) replied with 20 points for Penarol. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Obera went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Regatas. Penarol at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 17 games lost.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Obera (23-13) against eighteenth ranked Atenas (13-23) on Sunday night. Host Obera was defeated by Atenas in a tough game in Obera 78-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Obera. Santiago Ferreyra scored 27 points to lead the charge for the winners. Will Vorhees responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Atenas moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Union. Loser Obera dropped to the third position with 13 games lost. They share it with Regatas.

Rest of the games of round 50 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Regatas defeated Racing Ch. in Corrientes 93-76. La Union was beaten by Atenas at home 82-84. San Martin won against Platense on the opponent's court 79-77. Independ.O. unfortunately lost to Quimsa in a home game 102-110. San Martin was rolled over Union on the road 68-89. Bottom-ranked Argentino was crushed by Regatas on its own court 69-93. Obras was beaten by Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires 87-75. Penarol won against Ferro at home 87-80. Bottom-ranked Argentino unfortunately lost to Gimnasia on the opponent's court 74-89. Obras managed to beat San Lorenzo in a home game 76-70.
The best stats of 50th round was 8 points and 12 rebounds by Kevin Hernandez of San Lorenzo.



Instituto - Quimsa 78-79

The most exciting game of round 50 in the La Liga took place in Cordoba. Regatas outrebounded Racing Ch. 47-33 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Regatas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Spanish-Colombian power forward Juan Tello-Palacios (206-1985) scored 5 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Andres Jaime (184-2000) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest.
