Commonwealth Bank Giants are Bahamas National Champions - May 18, 2010
Commonwealth Bank Giants wrapped up their season in style. They celebrated the victory at the Bahamas National Basketball Championship. The tournament was organized by the Bahamas Basketball Federation in Marsh Harbour, Abaco.
The Giants had to overcome the Grand Bahama Ship Yard Cruisers to celebrate the trophy. The tournament welcomed four participants. The Giants and the Cruisers were accompanied by the Eleuthera champs Briland Panthers and the Abaco champions. Commonwealth Bank Giants looked well-organized and defensively minded team right from the start. They held off their opponents to set up the final clash against the defending champions from Grand Bahama. The game turned into a real thriller. The outcome was unclear till the final seconds. Led by Mark Hanna the Giants were able to escape with a narrow 96:91 victory at the end. Mark Hanna finished with 29 points to lead the charge. The forward was named the championship MVP after the encounter. Jeremy Hutchinson (C-80) added 27 points and 14 rebounds for the Giants. Quintine Hall responded with game-high 32 points for the Cruisers.


Commonwealth Bank Giants are crowned NPBA champions - May 11, 2010 

The Commonwealth Bank Giants have conquered the NPBA title. They overcame the Real Deal Shockers 4-1 in the best-of-seven series. The decisive win came in the fifth game 95:83. Michael Bain finished with 27 points to lead the effort. He was trumped the series MVP after the clash. Mark Hanna was helpful with 19 points for the Giants. Jeremy Hutchinson (C-80) delivered 14 points and 15 boards in the victory.
The Giants did not waste too much time to surge in front in this one. They accumulated a 23:16 lead at the first break. The Giants maintained the lead throughout the second frame. They arrived at the big break ahead by 11 points 46:35. The Shockers threw all they had in the third stanza. The gap grew thinner as the Giants led by just four points heading into the fourth term 67:63. However the Giants regained control in the paint in the final minutes and dominated till the final buzzer. Corey Williams and Barry Carter knocked down 15 points each for the Shockers. Ameka Watson had 12 points in the loss.
The Commonwealth Bank Giants will now fight for the National Championship title. The tournament is slated for May 14-15 in Abaco
