Bahamas grabbed the first victory in the 2015 CBC Championship in Tortola. They beat US Virgin Islands in Group A. Shanea Armbrister (180-F) posted 21 points to lead the winners.
Bahamas piled up a 21:13 lead after the opening quarter. Virgin Islands erased the deficit in the second term. They snatched a 34:33 halftime lead. Bahamas regained control in the third term. They pulled ahead for a 53:48 lead at the final intermission. Virgin Islands limited Bahamas to just 14 points in the fourth term but could not avoid the defeat. Sha-Londa Neely (C) chipped in 11 points, while Valerie Nesbitt (G) and Philicia Kelly (175-F-89) accounted for 10 points each in the win. Brittney Matthew (170-G) replied with 19 points for US Virgin Islands. Natalie Day (182-G/F-90, college: Portland) tossed in 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in the loss.
