NPBA Round 19 (Regular Season): Tucker Boys edge Regulators by one point

The Regular Season in NPBA just ended. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 19 in the NPBA took place in Nassau. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Regulators (5-8) to third ranked Tucker Boys (7-8) 72-71 on Wednesday evening. Tucker Boys outrebounded Regulators 50-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. Tucker Boys looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Clayton Tucker fired 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Lorenzo Rolle chipped in 22 points. Cleo Sears produced 25 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Tucker Boys moved-up to second place, which they share with Bahamas Univ. Regulators lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with eight games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in Nassau. Sixth ranked Shockers (4-9) saved a 2-point derby victory at home edging 5th ranked Zulu MM (5-9) 75-73 on Thursday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Dario Mckenzie who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. William Rigby contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Bertrum Minns answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds for Zulu MM. Zulu MM's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Shockers maintains sixth place with 4-9 record. Zulu MM lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Nassau: Giants (#1) and Sand Dollar (#2). Sand Dollar was crushed at home by 34 points 67-101 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It was a great evening for Jackson Jacob who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 7 assists. Giants' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Van Hutchinson responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Undefeated Giants (14-0) have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 14 victories in a row. Sand Dollar at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost.

In the last two games of round 19 TMT Giants were defeated by Sunlight CS in a road game 73-58. Island DR was beaten by Zulu MM at home 85-94.



Tucker Boys - Regulators 72-71

Shockers - Zulu MM 75-73

Important game to mention about took place in Nassau. Sixth ranked Shockers (4-9) saved a 2-point derby victory at home edging 5th ranked Zulu MM (5-9) 75-73 on Thursday evening. Shockers forced 24 Zulu MM turnovers. Strangely Zulu MM outrebounded Shockers 56-40 including a 38-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Dario Mckenzie who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. William Rigby contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Bertrum Minns answered with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds and Judino Wilson added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Zulu MM. Sunlight CS - TMT Giants 73-58

There was a minor upset when 3rd placed TMT Giants (6-7) were defeated on the road by sixth ranked Sunlight CS (4-8) 73-58 on Thursday. It was a great evening for Camron Strachan who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 27 rebounds. Kendrick Humes helped adding 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side Donovan Dean responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Rashad Sturrup scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Sunlight CS moved-up to fifth place. TMT Giants at the other side keep the third position with seven games lost.

Island DR - Zulu MM 85-94

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Zulu MM (5-9) defeated on the road their close opponent Island DR (2-10) 94-85 on Friday. Zulu MM dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Island DR's 30. They outrebounded Island DR 58-34 including a 24-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Bertrum Minns who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Judino Wilson helped adding 12 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Four Zulu MM players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Theo Ferguson responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and Martin Conliff scored 25 points. Zulu MM moved-up to fourth place. Island DR lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with ten games lost.

Sand Dollar - Giants 67-101

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Nassau: Giants (#1) and Sand Dollar (#2). Sand Dollar was crushed at home by 34 points 67-101 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Giants dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Sand Dollar's 30. Giants had a 38-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Sand Dollar's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Giants made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international guard Jackson Jacob (186, college: NAIT) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 7 assists. The former international Michael Bain (185-1985) helped adding 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Giants' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Van Hutchinson (193) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and Rus-Shon Strachan scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Sand Dollar players scored in double figures. Giants (14-0) have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 14 victories in a row. Sand Dollar at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost.
