BABA Round 3 (Regular Season): Cavaliers hand first loss to Bulls

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Bulls (2-1) in Bridgetown on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Cavaliers (4-0) 80-67. Cavaliers outrebounded Bulls 60-44 including a 47-33 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cavaliers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for the former international guard Deveron Knight (195-2000) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Zachary Cave contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international forward Rasheed Maynard (185-2000) answered with 31 points and 6 rebounds for Bulls. Cavaliers is looking forward to face Warrens (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bulls' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bridgetown Pinelands.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Bridgetown: Bears (#7) and Tridents (#8). Bears (1-2) won against visiting Tridents (0-3) 94-81. It was a great evening for Antoine Winter who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. Mark Bridgeman helped adding 21 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was guard Zane Gaskin with 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bears' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bridgetown to the arena Lakers.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Bridgetown: Celtics (#2) and Pinelands (#4). Celtics (4-0) crushed visiting Pinelands (1-2) by 27 points 88-61. It was an exceptional evening for Kiserian Adams who led the winners and scored 32 points and 5 rebounds. Carl Thorpe came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists for Pinelands in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Celtics' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bridgetown to the arena Tridents.

In the last game of round 3 bottom-ranked Lakers beat Warrens on the road 83-69.



Warrens - Lakers 69-83

There was a small surprise when Lakers (1-3) beat on the road Warrens (1-3) 83-69 on Sunday. Lakers made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Keefe Birkett (183-1988) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Ruck accounted for 16 points and 18 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Jonathan Dottin (203) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds and forward Karlos Greenidge added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Warrens in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lakers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bridgetown Bears.

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Bridgetown: Bears (#7) and Tridents (#8). Bears (1-2) won against visiting Tridents (0-3) 94-81. They outrebounded Tridents 53-27 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bears players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Tridents' players. It was a great evening for Antoine Winter who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Deroni Hurley (175-2001) accounted for 13 points, 6 assists and 7 steals for the winning side. Four Celtics players scored in double figures. The former international Carl Thorpe (201-2001, college: York, NE) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Nathan Estwick added 5 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Pinelands in the defeat.
