Regular Season Round 6: Obras - Felix Perez 80-86

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Argentinian Obras (1-2) against fourth ranked Paraguayan Felix Perez (1-2) on Sunday night. Host Obras were defeated by Felix Perez in a tough game in Buenos Aires 80-86. It looked good early as Obras took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Felix Perez had a 29-16 second period charge getting the lead and Obras were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-86. Strangely Obras outrebounded Felix Perez 39-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Latvian guard Ilze Jakobsone (168-1994) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. American swingman Isabelle Gradwell (185-2000, college: Minnesota) contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Felix Perez's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Canadian guard Dahomee Forgues (173, college: FDU) replied with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Camila Suarez (178-2000) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Obras. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Defending Paraguayan champion left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Obras.
