The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Phoenix won third quarter 17-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Indeportes held Phoenix to an opponent 20.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 30.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Guard Carolina Lopez (188-1998) stepped up and scored 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and forward Jenifer Munoz (170-1991) chipped in 15 points. Indeportes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Union Florida dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Sportiva Ita.'s 24 and made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Union Florida had a 40-28 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Maria Martinez (170-1994) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Colombian guard Myriam Alonso (175-1992) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The standout guard Carolina Lopez earned the Most Valuable Player of the championship-winning Indeportes Antioquia from Colombia. She also earned a spot in the First Team. Lopez's excellent performance assisted her team in beating Phoenix 61 to 53 in the final. She averaged over 8 points and 4 assists per game in the league. Lopez's 15 points against Phoenix were the most she scored in the 2024 season. Among many awards she was selected to the Latinbasket All-Colombian Liga Superior First Team back in 2021. She was also selected as the Colombian All-Star Game back in 2020.
Manuela Rios, Colombian guard Sportiva Italiana Valparaiso from Chile, picked up the Best Guard at the Basketball League Americas. She was also voted to the First Team. Rios was previously selected to the Second Team last year. She recorded 7 rebounds per game that season in the league. Rios was the Player of the Week honoree twice during the 24 campaign. She led the WBLA in points per game with 25. Rios' 37 points against Phoenix were the most she scored in the 2024 season. Among many awards she was selected to the Latinbasket All-FIBA AmeriCup First Team back in 2021. She was also selected to the Latinbasket All-WBLA Second Team in 2023. Rios was selected as the Colombian All-Star Game back in 2020.
Rebecca Harris, 38-year old guard Bay Area Phoenix from USA, was named the Best Forward of Premier Basketball Association. She graduated from the Illinois sixteen years ago. Harris was also chosen to the First Team. She helped Harris' team have an undefeated season as Bay Area Phoenix was not challenged in the league with a perfect 3 to 0 in the regular season. Harris' best performance made her team reach the final but they lost against the Indeportes 53 to 61. Her court vision propelled her to the third spot in points per game an outstanding average of over 19. Harris also registered over 8 rebounds per game over the season in the league. She has totalled 4 games of 20 or more points and had double-doubles in 3 games on the year. Harris' 33 points against the Wolves were the most she scored in the 2024 season. Among many awards she was selected to the Eurobasket All-Ukrainian Superleague Second Team back in 2021. She was also selected as the Eurobasket All-Turkish KBSL Honorable Mention back in 2020.
