Regular Season Round 6: Las Animas - Puerto Montt 65-90

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Las Animas (2-1) in Valdivia on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by seventh ranked Puerto Montt (3-3) 90-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Las Animas. Puerto Montt made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Las Animas 40-19 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Puerto Montt looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. International Carlos Lauler (190-96) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Italian-Argentinian point guard Diego Gerbaudo (178-89) chipped in 16 points and 8 assists during the contest. Five Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Travion Leonard (205-93, college: Barry, agency: Interperformances) with 15 points and international Diego Low (190-97) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Puerto Montt moved-up to fifth place. Las Animas at the other side dropped to the sixth position with one game lost.
