Regular Season Round 21: Ancud - UdeC 79-75

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Universidad de Concepcion (15-4) on the court of eighth ranked Ancud on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Ancud 79-75. They made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Universidad de Concepcion outrebounded Ancud 43-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Pablo Barraza (184-1994) contributed with 19 points for the winners. American center Arnold Louis (201-1990, college: SSU) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import forward Jerry Evans (203-1990, college: Nevada) added 23 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Universidad de Concepcion. Ancud have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Valdivia. Defending champion Universidad de Concepcion still keeps top position with four games lost. Ancud will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Universidad de Concepcion will play on the road against Espanol de Talca and is hoping to win this game.
