Regular Season Round 23: Valdivia - Ancud 82-69

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Ancud (10-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Deportivo Valdivia (12-8) 82-69 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American forward Cameron Naylor (202-1994, college: Texas St.) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. Fabian Martinez (194-2000) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Naylor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Deportivo Valdivia's coach Juan Manuel Cordoba used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International Sebastian Suarez (193-1991, college: Portland St.) produced 18 points and Pablo Barraza (184-1994) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Deportivo Valdivia maintains fifth place with 12-8 record. Ancud at the other side keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Deportivo Valdivia are looking forward to face Puerto Montt (#6) on the road in the next round. Ancud will play against Universidad Catolica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
