No shocking result in a game in San Fernando where fifth ranked Castro (14-9) smashed 11th ranked Tinguiririca (5-18) 105-74 on Wednesday. Castro dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Tinguiririca's 40. Castro forced 21 Tinguiririca turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward DeMarco Owens (203-1996, college: Montevallo) scored 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Argentinian-American guard Romeao Ferguson (196-1997, college: Lipscomb) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Owens is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. DR Congolese-Canadian forward Eric Kibi (198-1990, college: ACU) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds and guard Matias Sepulveda (-1995) scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Five Castro and four Tinguiririca players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Castro have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Castro went down to sixth position due to points difference. Tinguiririca lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 18 games lost. Castro will meet higher ranked Puente Alto (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tinguiririca will play against Puerto Montt (#8) and hope to secure a win.
