Regular Season Round 11: Rancagua - UNAB Santiago 39-62
Date: July 10, 2022
Rather predictable result when sixth ranked UNAB Santiago (6-9) outscored on the road bottom-ranked Rancagua (0-13) 62-39 on Sunday. UNAB Santiago held Rancagua to an opponent 20.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 31.4 percent accuracy of the winners. UNAB Santiago forced 25 Rancagua turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Sofia Barros (-2002) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds. Karla Vargas (-2000) helped adding 9 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Daisy Becerra responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and Maria Yanez scored 8 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. UNAB Santiago maintains sixth place with 6-9 record. Rancagua lost their thirteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 13 games lost. UNAB Santiago will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rancagua will play against the league's second-placed Sergio Ceppi (#2) in Santiago and hopes to get finally their first victory.
