BEBL Round 7 (Regular Season): Trojans defeat Western Ballaz in the closest game of the week

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 7 in the BEBL took place in Belmopan. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Western Ballaz (1-4) to seventh ranked Trojans (2-5) 76-74 on Saturday evening. Trojans shot 63.0 percent from the field. It was a great evening for guard Jevaughn McKenzie who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points. American forward Tramarcus Levi (201-1997, college: Graceland) helped adding 14 points. At the losing side American swingman Mark Gordon (196, college: Keiser) responded with 23 points. Western Ballaz's coach Karim Juan tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Trojans moved-up to fifth place. Western Ballaz lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with four games lost. They share it with Dream Ballers. Trojans are looking forward to face higher ranked Defenders (#3) in Belize City in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Western Ballaz will play at home against Dream Ballers (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Defenders (3-2) against fourth ranked Tiger Sharks (4-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Defenders were crushed by Tiger Sharks in San Pedro 104-70. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Bobby Arthur-Williams (201-1997, college: Pitt St., agency: Starting 5) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Francis Arana accounted for 18 points, 5 rebounds, 11 assists and 5 steals. American point guard Lorenzo Dillard (189-1995, college: Dillard) came up with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for Defenders in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tiger Sharks have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Defenders at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Running Rebels. Tiger Sharks will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Defenders will play at home against Trojans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
BEBL top team - Hurricanes (6-0) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat fifth ranked Dream Ballers (1-4) in Belize City 97-88. Sidibe Bourama fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Hurricanes' coach Greg Moguel used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Delvon Henderson produced 24 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. Undefeated Hurricanes have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 6-0 record. Loser Dream Ballers dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Western Ballaz. Hurricanes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Belize City to the arena Running Rebels.

BEBL top team - Hurricanes (6-0) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat fifth ranked Dream Ballers (1-4) in Belize City 97-88. Hurricanes dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Dream Ballers' 34. They outrebounded Dream Ballers 49-30 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Hurricanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Sidibe Bourama fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. The former international Charles Garcia (204-1988, college: Seattle) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Five Hurricanes players scored in double figures. Hurricanes' coach Greg Moguel used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
