Libobasquet Round 6: Pichincha edge Leones by three points

What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Libobasquet took place in Potosi. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 10th ranked Leones (1-5) to second ranked Pichincha (4-2) 73-70 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Rene Calvo (193-1993) who scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American swingman Eric Lovett (196, college: FIU) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Ronald Arze (175-1993) who recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Pichincha have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 4-2 record having just one point less than leader CAN Oruro. Leones lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with five games lost.

It was a good game for American guard Trey Jones (188-1998, college: Bluefield) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds. Agustin Carreon contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Serbian power forward Milos Petkovic (204-1991) replied with 29 points and 8 rebounds for San Simon. Calero moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated San Simon. San Simon lost third consecutive game.




Leones - Pichincha 70-73
