Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Seventh-ranked Leones (6-8) gave a tough game to first ranked Pichincha (11-4) on Saturday. Pichincha managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leones. Strangely Leones outrebounded Pichincha 47-34 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Rene Calvo (193-1993) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international swingman Jose Perez (191-2000) helped adding 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. At the losing side the former international point guard Martin Ochoa (185-1994) responded with 8 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. Pichincha have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-4 record. Leones at the other side keep the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with CAN Oruro.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Cochabamba. Third ranked host San Simon (9-6) defeated their biggest opponent Atletico Nacional (9-6) 89-84. It was an exceptional evening for Argentinian Rolando Vallejos (195-2000) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Milos Petkovic accounted for 19 points and 9 rebounds. Cuban-\n guard Adriano Barreras (186-1989) came up with 27 points for Atletico Nacional in the defeat. San Simon moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Atletico Nacional. Atletico Nacional lost third consecutive game.
Bottom-ranked La Paz managed to get a fourth victory on Tuesday night. This time they outleveled eighth-ranked Saracho 100-80. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference proves that La Paz was well-prepared to that game. Dariel Maza fired 31 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Daniel Simon produced 22 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Saracho's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. La Paz maintains tenth place with 4-11 record. Loser Saracho dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost.

In the last two games of round 19 Univ.Sucre lost to CAN Oruro on the opponent's court 74-87. Carl A-Z managed to outperform Calero in a home game 85-74.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 31 points and 12 rebounds by Juan Cruz Oberto of Calero.




CAN Oruro - Univ.Sucre 87-74

There was an upset when 4th placed Univ.Sucre (8-7) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked CAN Oruro (6-8) 87-74 on Thursday. CAN Oruro dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Univ.Sucre's 30. They outrebounded Univ.Sucre 42-31 including 27 on the defensive glass. CAN Oruro looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Univ.Sucre's players. Argentinian forward Juan Martin Bello (200-1999) fired 20 points and 9 assists for the winners. American swingman Deondre Wade (194, college: Seminole St.) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. Four CAN Oruro players scored in double figures. American guard Haylen Washington (196-1994, college: Co.Georgia) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Jesse Johnson (201-1995, college: EWC) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. CAN Oruro moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Leones. Loser Univ.Sucre keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Carl A-Z.

It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference proves that La Paz was well-prepared to that game. They shot 66.1 percent from the field. They also forced 19 Saracho turnovers. It was a great shooting night for La Paz especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage.
