The former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Four Flamengo players scored in double figures. Flamengo celebrated the Super 8 Cup title. They held off Franca in the exciting Final game at the Ginasio Pedrocao tonight. Marquinhos Vieira (207-SF-84) scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for Flamengo. He was named the MVP. Flamengo sank 25 points in the first period to take a 3-point lead. They held the hosts to just 5 points in the second period to ensure a 40:27 halftime lead. Franca managed to get within 11 points at the final intermission. They pulled even closer in the fourth quarter but Flamengo stopped the run and secured a tough win at the end. Franco Balbi (185-PG-89) tossed in 20 points, while Anderson Varejao (211-C-82) added 16 points for Flamengo. Rafael Hettsheimeir (206-C-86) replied with 17 points for Franca.

AEK won FIBA Intercontinental Cup and became the third Greek team that won the tournament. In the Final game the Greek side edged Flamengo 86-70 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Jordan Theodore (182-PG-89, college: Seton Hall) was named the tournament's MVP. The team from Athens opened the game with a 20-19 lead and had 7 points advantage at the halftime. Flamengo tried to recover and produced a 22-21 rally in the third quarter, but could not match the opponents at the end. AEK finished with a final 23-15 surge to seal the trophy. Jordan Theodore stepped up with 22 points and Jonas Maciulis (198-F-85) added 17. Anderson Varejao (211-C-82) ended up with 21 points for the Brazilian side.

NBB Brazil demolished NBB World 144-92 in All Star game. The local players erupted with a 39-16 surge early in the game and never looked behind after. Moreover they posted a 24-22 before the halftime and won the third period 38-26. In the last period NBB Brazil scored another massive 43 points to seal an easy victory. Jefferson Andrade (207-PF-83) top-scored for the winners with 28 points and was named MVP of the game. Lucas Dias nailed 23, while Leonardo Meindl (201-SF-93) followed them with 21 points in a win.
