Eighth-ranked Paulistano (5-4) made lots of trouble for top-ranked Flamengo (10-0) in Sao Paulo on Saturday. The visitors from Rio de Janeiro managed to secure only two-point victory 82-80. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Paulistano. Flamengo made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The former international Wesley Ferreira (201-1995) fired 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. chipped in 20 points. Flamengo's coach Sergio Hernandez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. produced 14 points and 7 assists for lost side. Undefeated Flamengo have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Paulistano at the other side keeps the eighth place with four games lost. They share the position with Bauru. Flamengo are looking forward to face Brasilia (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Paulistano will play against Cruzeiro and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Bottom-ranked Vasco (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-54 loss to tenth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (5-4) in Bauru. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds. Pedro Infante contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international Wesley Ferreira (201-1995) replied with 11 points and 5 rebounds for Vasco. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bauru moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Paulistano. Vasco at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Bauru will play against Cearense (#15) in Fortaleza in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vasco will have a break next round.

Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sesi/Franca moved-up to fourth place. Loser Vasco still closes the standings with ten games lost. Sesi/Franca will meet UniFacisa (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vasco will have a break next round.

Rest of the games of round 10 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Osasco was defeated by Minas in Belo Horizonte 86-81. UniFacisa was beaten by Sao Jose at home 85-87. Pato was destroyed by Mogi on the opponent's court 86-58. U.Corinthians managed to outperform Caxias do Sul in a home game 77-75. Osasco was rolled over Cruzeiro on the road 98-76.
The best stats of 10th round was 29 points by Anthony Harris of Osasco.



Minas - Osasco 86-81

There was no surprise in Belo Horizonte where 17th ranked Osasco (2-8) was defeated by second ranked Minas (8-1) 86-81 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Minas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American swingman Jordan Williams (196-1992, college: N.Texas) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and Juan Arengo chipped in 11 points during the contest. Minas' coach Leonardo Costa allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side Argentinian guard Alejo Britos (187-1994) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds and Anthony Harris scored 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Osasco players scored in double figures. Minas maintains second position with 8-1 record having just three points less than leader Flamengo. Loser Osasco dropped to the eighteenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Pato. Minas will meet at home Paulistano (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Osasco will have a break next round.

Four Sao Jose players scored in double figures. At the losing side Venezuelan guard Yohanner Sifontes (192-1995) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international point guard Henrique Coelho (184-1993) scored 15 points and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sao Jose moved-up to tenth place, which they share with U.Corinthians and UniFacisa.
