ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The BVI Basketball Federation (BVIBF), which welcomed a new executive body in June 2019, has lost one of its elected members through sudden resignation- Assistant Public Relations Officer, Mrs Angelle A. Cameron.
It is unclear why Cameron, a business continuity consultant and marketing and branding strategist, has called it quits and President of the BVIBF, Mr Derrick R. Varlack did not respond to request for comments.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mr Eustace C. Freeman aka 'Boss' was unable to confirm Cameron's resignation when reached on January 7, 2020.

'At this point I cannot confirm. As soon as I can I will inform you,' Mr Freeman told Virgin Islands News Online.'

'I did resign'

Cameron; however, confirmed her resignation from the BVIBF the same day.

'I did resign,' Cameron, a radio show host and former Mrs BVI, told Virgin Islands News Online.

It is unclear what date Cameron tendered her resignation.

The BVIBF recently made its presence felt in the community by sprucing up the Nurse Iris Penn-Smith Clinic in East End on December 14 and 15, 2019.

Cameron was also a part of that initiative.

Basketball being kept alive by Hon Fraser League

The BVIBF said in November 2019 it was eager to revive the Town League and was seeking interested persons to join the Road Town Basketball Committee.

It is now unclear whether the wheels of the BVIBF's wagon have started to fall off.

With the absence of the Town League, basketball has been solely kept alive in the Territory by the popular Hon Julian Fraser Save the Seed National Basketball League.
