Cleveland State's D'Moi Hodge named Horizon League player of the week

Cleveland State senior guard D'Moi Hodge (193-G-98)< is the Horizon League men's basketball player of the week following a 31-point effort in the Vikings' overtime loss at Oklahoma State.

Hodge, whose 14.9 points per game leads CSU this season and ranks ninth in the Horizon League, shot 11-for-22 from the field in the 98-93 overtime loss Dec. 13. He also grabbed three rebounds and two steals while scoring five of Cleveland State's final eight points at the end of regulation.

A native of the British Virgin Islands, Hodge spent two seasons at State College of Florida, where he averaged 22.3 points a game and shot .452 from the field before joining the Vikings last season.

He started 25 games for CSU last year, averaging 10.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game, leading the team in steals and ranking third in the Horizon League. Hodge scored a career-high 46 against Purdue Fort Wayne, sinking an NCAA season-high 10 triples.
