Canty's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

31-year old American forward Jalen Canty (203-F-1995, agency: Haylett Sports) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Club Deportivo Valdivia and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 18 rebounds, while his team crushed Puerto Varas (#4, 2-2) with 17-point margin 85-68. Valdivia maintains the 2nd position in their group in the Chilean league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Valdivia already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Canty had a remarkable 63.2% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Valdivia, through which he has constantly improved. University of California Santa Barbara graduate has very impressive stats this year. Canty leads league in rebounds with 14.3rpg. Canty is in league's top in and averages solid 2.5bpg and 64.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Franco Ordenes (181-PG-1992) of Asociacion Basquetbol Ancud. He is international guard in his first season at Ancud. In the last game Ordenes recorded an impressive double-double of 26 points and 11 assists. Of course he led Ancud to another comfortable win 86-71 over Puerto Montt (#7, 0-5) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Ancud to move up to 3rd position in Sur. His team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Ordenes is one of the most experienced players at Ancud and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Aseem Luckey (206-F-2001) of Club Deportes Espanol de Talca (#6). Luckey scored 28 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). Despite Luckey's great performance the Espanol lost 77-136 to the league's current leader Univ.Concepcion (#2, 3-0). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Espanol can only dream about fighting for top spots in Centro. They have awful season losing so far all 4 games. Luckey has individually a great season in Chile. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.8ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 10.8rpg (6th best).
