Liga Nacional Round 13: Universidad de Concepcion defeat CD Castro in the closest game of the week

Very expected game in Santiago where 5th ranked Universidad Catolica (6-8) was crushed by first ranked Puente Alto (8-4) 82-50 on Saturday. Puente Alto outrebounded Universidad Catolica 48-27 including a 39-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international point guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals for the winners and American forward Corbin Jackson (198-92, college: Florida Tech) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Worth to mention Jackson played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. Puente Alto's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
