Puente Alto - CDU Catolica 68-76

CDU Catolica upset Puento Alto in the opener. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard DJ Ursery (193, college: Alaska-Anch.) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. His fellow American import Scott Cutley (196-85, college: CS Fullerton) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Cutley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Corbin Jackson (198-92, college: Florida Tech) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and the former international point guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) added 10 points, 5 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Puente Alto. Four Puente Alto players scored in double figures.

CDU Cncepcion cruised past Temuco in Game 1. Universidad de Concepcion outrebounded Temuco 56-28 including a 41-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. International guard Diego Silva (186-93) stepped up and scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American Rakim Brown (198-91, college: Humboldt St.) chipped in 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. At the losing side South African forward Pieter Prinsloo (208-92, college: Marist, agency: Promo Sport ID) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and guard Michael Ernst (187-82) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

American Durrell Summers (196-89, college: Michigan St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Manny Suarez (208-93, college: Creighton) added 18 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Puerto Montt in the defeat. Five Deportivo Valdivia and four Puerto Montt players scored in double figures.

Williams is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four CD Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. American forward Mike Poole (196-92, college: Iona) produced 22 points and 5 rebounds and Argentinian guard Esteban Cantarutti (185-88) added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. CD Castro's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
