Sergio Ceppi - Manquehue 63-57 The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santiago: Sergio Ceppi (#4) and Manquehue (#5). Sergio Ceppi (8-3) won against visiting Manquehue (7-5) 63-57. It was a good game for the former international forward Fabian Aguilera (-1995) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Liceo PN dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Aleman's 28. Liceo PN forced 22 Aleman turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including 30 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Franco Garrido (181-1986) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) supported him with 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 24 points and 7 rebounds by Venezuelan center Sergio Mijares (-1997) did not help to save the game for Aleman. Center Marko Castro (192-1988) added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Aleman's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Liceo PN moved-up to second place, which they share with Espanol O. Aleman lost third consecutive game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by international Sebastian Suarez (193-1991, college: Portland St.) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 rebounds and Argentinian center Franco Barroso (207-1994) supported him with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds by Argentinian center Leonel Rodriguez (205-1993) did not help to save the game for Tomas L.. Joaquin Contreras (-2003) added 12 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Espanol O. have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-2 record behind leader Sportiva Italiana, which they share with Liceo PN. Tomas L. at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with nine games lost. Espanol O. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sportiva Italiana have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-1 record. Luis Matte lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Stadio Italiano.
