LNB Round 2: Tinguiririca lose to Espanol T.

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in LNB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Tinguiririca recorded a loss in Talca on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Espanol T. 89-82. The best player for the winners was point guard Ricardo Gomez (176-1993) who scored 31 points. Forward Diego Zerene (-2000) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international forward Gianncarlo Caraboni produced 28 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Important game to mention about took place in Puerto Montt. Valdivia saved a 3-point victory on the road edging Puerto Montt 79-76 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Argentinian Juan Rivero (191-1985) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Nicholas Wadell contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Valdivia's coach Gabriel Schamberger allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Josh Morris (203-1993, college: UTPB) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds (perfect from the field making all twelve shots !!!) for Puerto Montt. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Puerto Varas. Local Puerto Varas outscored Temuco 99-64 on Sunday night. Enzo Amado scored 18 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Carlos Aranda responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Rest of the games of round 2 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
winless Castro was defeated by Las Animas in Valdivia 89-84. Quilicura beat Catolica at home 78-74. Los Leones won against Puente Alto on the opponent's court 86-74.
The best stats of 2nd round was 25 points and 6 assists by Darrol Jones of Los Leones.



Las Animas - Castro 89-84

Las Animas used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Castro 89-84 on Sunday night. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Diego Low (190-1997) chipped in 27 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Argentinian forward Gabriel Hermosillas (202-1993) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Ecuadorian center Bryan Carabali (212-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Castro players scored in double figures. Castro's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Las Animas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Castro will play against Puente Alto and hope to win that game.

Quilicura - Catolica 78-74

Quilicura used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Santiago 78-74 on Sunday night. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Cuban guard Adriano Barreras (186-1989) scored 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Fernando Schuler (190-1991) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Quilicura players scored in double figures. American forward T.J. Robinson (203-1989, college: LBSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Manny Payton (183-1997, college: FSU) scored 21 points. Catolica's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Quilicura will meet Castro on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Catolica will have a break next round.

Argentinian forward Nicholas Wadell (201-1989) contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The game with biggest result difference took place in Puerto Varas. Local Puerto Varas outscored Temuco 99-64 on Sunday night. They outrebounded Temuco 38-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. Puerto Varas shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Temuco's players. Argentinian point guard Enzo Amado (183) scored 18 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Juan Fontena (196-1987) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. But Puente Alto was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Quilpue 86-74 on Sunday night. The former international forward Darrol Jones (193-1994) scored 25 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international forward Ignacio Carrion (201-1993) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. American forward Dennis McKinney (193-1998, college: Mt.Mercy, agency: GoEmpire Group) responded with 24 points and his fellow American import forward Marquez Letcher-Ellis (203-1997, college: Nevada) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Los Leones will meet at home Espanol O. in the next round. Puente Alto will play against Castro and hope to win that game.
