Chris Perry claims Chilean LNB weekly honour- January 31, 2023
The 28-year old forward had a double-double of 18 points and fifteen rebounds, while his team beat Espanol T. (#9, 2-3) 78-64. Quilicura is placed at 7th position in Chilean LNB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Quilicura will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Perry as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Lincoln Memorial University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Perry is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 10.4rpg) and averages solid 1.2bpg. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Argentinian forward Nicholas Wadell (201-F-1989) of Valdivia. Wadell impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Valdivia lost that game 91-100 to the higher-ranked Espanol O. (#3, 4-1). This loss caused Valdivia to drop to 8th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 3-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Wadell is a newcomer at Valdivia and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. The third best performed player last round was Ecuadorian Bryan Carabali (212-C-1999) of Castro (#12). Carabali scored 14 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Carabali's great performance Castro lost 74-87 to the league's current leader Concepcion (#2, 4-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Castro can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Carabali has a very solid season. In 4 games in Chile he scored 11.3ppg. Other top performing players last week: 4. Carlos Lauler (190-SG) of Espanol O. - 26 points and 5 assists 5. Davon Haynes (203-F-1991) of Espanol T. - 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists 6. Diego Dias Silva (207-F/C-1990) of Temuco - 17 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists 7. Cristian Amicucci (200-F/C-1985) of Las Animas - 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists 8. Marquez Letcher-Ellis (203-F-1997) of Puente Alto - 18 points and 11 rebounds 9. Nicolas Zurschmitten (183-PG-1995) of Espanol O. - 16 points and 13 assists 10. Juan Manuel Rivero (191-SG-1985) of Valdivia - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
